Voice Over Artist
Katie Flamman

Katie approached Roy Collins of Sound Booth Installations to supply and install one of our Esmono Sound Booths. Like Harry Potter, Katie had spent many years in a make shift cupboard under the stairs.

After a meeting and site visit Sound Booth Installations were instructed to build an Esmono Sound Booth for Katie.

Katie was kind enough to show us around her new booth. Check our the video and see the booth and hear Katie’s feedback.

For voice-over artists, an Esmono Sound Booth offers an ideal environment for capturing clean, professional-quality audio. Its superior soundproofing minimizes external noise and echo, allowing artists to focus entirely on their performance without distractions.

The booth’s modular design also allows for customization, ensuring that features like windows and ventilation are placed exactly where needed. This controlled space helps produce consistent, high-quality recordings, making it easier to deliver crisp and clear voice-overs with minimal post-production work.

LIPA 6th Form College

Having just started at LIPA Sixth Form College, I inherited the studio build project at the last minute having not seen any plans. Roy came to site for a final measure up and put my mind at ease and went through every aspect of the plans with me and we finalised delivery and schedule of work.  This was to be one of the largest double booths Esmono had ever made, and as such, needed to be shipped directly from the factory to the college with Roy and his team ready to take delivery.

Roy was not only the project manager, but was also the main construction engineer on the project. As a sound technician, it was great to see the booth go up and to be able to ask questions of Roy and the team whenever needed, as this was my first time on a build.

Roy’s after care has been second to none.  After having issues with flanking noise from the neighbouring building, Roy was able to quickly plan a solution and came back to site for another week until the team had this remedied.

Since the build, Roy has been able to offer guidance and assistance both with the Esmono booth and other acoustic treatment projects I have undertaken.
These include, consultation on fitting air-handling to the booth, making our booth compliant with Covid-19 government regulations, fitting Co2 sensors, network ports, audio, emergency lighting, smoke heads, alarms and electrics.

Roy has a depth of knowledge surrounding acoustic treatment and its installation. On two recent treatment project, I measured rt60 responses and calculated reflections with ray-tracing. Roy was able to recommend the appropriate acoustic absorption methods, products, and methods of mounting, whether it be spikes, screws through fabric, Velcro or ceiling hung.
